Curt Laird rejoined Winthrop University in 2008. He has been in higher education for over 10 years as a professor of sport management. He worked in the area of sport facility operations while completing his first three college degrees. Upon completion of his Masters degree, Curt worked briefly for Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew before getting involved as an adjunct professor at Columbus State Community College, his first alma mater. Curt completed his Ph.D. in higher education administration, where his dissertation focused on sport management curriculum. Curt was orginally employed at Winthrop from 2003 to 2006 as a professor of sport management. In 2006, Curt took the sport management program coordinator position at the University of Charleston before returning Winthrop. Over the years, Curt has been described as the "utility infielder" for his willingness to teach a wide variety classes and service to several committees. Curt's research interests are in the areas of sport sponsorship and marketing.
