Homework Clinic
Winthrop University’s Homework Clinic provides off campus service at the Emmett Scott Center, a youth recreation facility in the Rock Hill community. Local first through fifth graders benefit from one-on-one tutoring and mentoring sessions provided by trained Winthrop University students.
Tutors meet with students twice a week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) to assist with homework assignments, improve reading skills, and facilitate educational activities and games.
If you are a current Winthrop student, work-study eligible and are interested in becoming a tutor or if you are interested in serving as a volunteer tutor, please contact Career & Civic Engagement at 803/323.2141. Tutors are needed from 2:45-4:30pm two days a week.
