Class Assignments

Faculty and staff can collaborate with CCE to help students gain valuable knowledge and skills by requiring class assignments. To request a class assignment, please contact CCE at 803/323-2141. Please allow at least 15 minutes of class time for one of our CCE staff members to speak with your students and prepare them for a class assignment.

Typical class assignments include:

  • Résumé/Cover Letter Critiques – Students can learn to develop and improve their résumés and cover letters by working with a career advisor one-on-one. To have résumés and cover letters critiqued, students should call 803/323-2141 to schedule an appointment. Check out a few of our existing samples.

  • Mock Interviews – Students can practice interviewing by participating in a mock interview with CCE. Class assignment mock interviews are scheduled for 30 minutes. Students will have the opportunity to "test" their ability to respond to interview questions and obtain feedback. These interviews can help the student critique their interviewing skills and an advisor will work with them to adjust as necessary. To reserve a date and time, each student will need to schedule an appointment. We offer web-based mock interviews via InterviewStream (pdf – 431 kb) so students have the opportunity to complete this assignment from home or in Crawford Building.

  • Career Assessments – Students can complete a career assessment and meet with a career advisor to review the results. Our office offers both the MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory.
