Current literature is full of resources on which to base a contemporary program:

• From global work, the program is based on the “Principles for Responsible Management Education” (PRME), published in a report from the Global Compact of United Nations affiliated corporate citizenship group.
• An authoritative source from within the United States is provided by publications in the series, “Beyond Grey Pinstripes” from the World Resources Institute and the Aspen Initiative for Social Innovation through Business.
• The University is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education and uses its resource publications.
• Academic sources and popular literature also provide ample examples and documentation of the importance of the field and examples of the link between sustainable business and competitive advantage. "The Triple Bottom Line: How Today's Best-Run Companies Are Achieving Economic, Social and Environmental Success -- and How You Can Too" by Andrew W. Savitz and Karl Weber is an excellent example.

The Sustainable Business option will introduce students to basic business concepts, a spirit of innovation, environmental sensitivity, and a commitment to social responsibility.
