Fast Facts about Undergraduate Business Programs
There are four undergraduate degree programs in the College of Business Administration:
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
- includes the Business major plus one of 11 specialized Options.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
- includes the Computer Science major plus a Second Discipline in either information systems or math and physics; or any university approved minor.
Bachelor of Arts in Economics
- includes the major in Economics plus a university approved minor.
Bachelor of Science in Digital Information Design
- includes the major in Digital Information Design and a related Specialty.
The appropriate
Degree Checklist
outlines every course that you need to take to complete your degree.
You must have a 2.0 GPA and 54 hours in order to take courses numbered above 299 in the College of Business.
CBA course designators are: ACCT, BADM, CSCI, ECON, ENTR, FINC, HCMT, MGMT, MKTG, QMTH.
You must earn a "C-" or better in HMXP102.
To earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration you must earn a "C-" or better in all core and option courses.
For the Computer Science degree you must earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better in all computer science courses.
For the Economics degree you must earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better in all economics courses.
You must have an overall 2.0 GPA and a minimum of 124 semester hours to graduate from Winthrop University.
To earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration you must complete 48 credit-hours of courses numbered above 299.
For the Computer Science, Economics, and Digital Information Design degrees you must complete 40 hours numbered above 299.
A senior audit is done once you have earned 70 hours toward your degree program. This audit will assure that you are taking the appropriate course work to complete your degree.
PLSC 201 or ECON 103 or HIST 211 & 212 must be taken to fulfill Winthrop's Constitutional Requirement.
ACAD 101 is required for all first time entering freshman.
You are required to attend three cultural events for every 20 hours completed at Winthrop, not to exceed 18 events.
