Elaine
Whitton Davis and Winthrop University, College of Business Administration, have
announced the second event in the series of training seminars for small
business owners for 2013. The objective
of the Whitton Best Practices Series, sponsored by Elaine Whitton Davis and
developed in conjunction with Winthrop faculty, is to provide free or low cost
access to current state of the art knowledge relevant to small business
practice.
It is the
belief of Mrs. Davis that small businesses often do not have the resources or time
to stay abreast of current topics and trends in the business world. The Whitton Series will be delivered close to
home at convenient times and at no charge to the participants
Secretary Hammond will discuss the different types
of entity structures that file with their office such as LLCs, Partnerships,
Sole Proprietorships, S-Corps, C-Corps etc.
He will be discussing the form requirements as well as other facts
surrounding each entity choice.
Additionally we will have a local practitioner,
Joanie Winters, Attorney at Law on hand to discuss which options may be the
best for your business as well as the debt and legal implications of each legal
business entity set up type.
The event will be from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. on March 19th
and will be held in Whitton Auditorium – Vivian M. Carroll Hall. A reception in the Macfeat House adjacent to
Carroll Hall will follow the event.
The Whitton
Series is designed to support the regional business community. For more
