On behalf of the faculty and staff, welcome to Winthrop's Master of Business Administration! Many exciting developments contribute to our continuous improvement. We recently opened Vivian M. Carroll Hall, a technologically sophisticated addition to our facility. This building houses the impressive Carroll Capital Markets Training and Trading Center to support the study of global capital markets. Across the MBA curriculum, students are engaged with outside clients working on real business problems, contributing to research studies, working in internships, and participating in other field-based learning experiences.
Since 1982 our MBA program has been accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB-International), the preeminent global business accreditation organization. A recent AACSB review re-affirmed our accreditation. Their report was complimentary of our professional development efforts, the diversity of our student body, and the extent to which our students have international opportunities.
In addition to quality, the flexibility of our MBA program is valued tremendously by our students. Our students have the ability to choose what classes to take and when to take them. This flexible scheduling allows our program to suit a variety of audiences: full-time students who are focused solely on their studies, students who work part-time, and full-time working professionals who take evening classes.
Our close proximity to Charlotte, NC makes our program a logical choice for our students who live and work uptown and in the south Charlotte area. Furthermore, Winthrop offers in-state tuition to residents of the Charlotte regional partnership counties in North Carolina: Mecklenburg, Gaston, Stanley, Cabarrus, Anson, Alexander, Catawba, Cleveland, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan and Union.
We have attracted students and scholars from around the world to join our programs that offer excellent classroom instruction and chances to interact with practitioners in many disciplines, all in an environment with the ideal blend of challenge and support. We combine students and faculty and staff and practitioners into partnerships that together execute our mission to learn and grow and ultimately to develop each constituent into the best citizen and contributor to an organization that he or she can possibly become. We invite you to learn more about our MBA program and please let us know how we can help you decide if Winthrop is the right choice for you.
