Mrs. Yamilette Chacon is a Sociology PhD candidate at the University of South Carolina, Columbia. In 2009, she received a MA in Sociology along with a Women’s Studies Graduate Certificate from the University of South Carolina. In 2005, Mrs. Chacon graduated from Winthrop University with a BA in Sociology and a Minor in Anthropology. She has also received an Associate of Arts in Anthropology from El Camino College, Torrance, California. Her interests include Social Psychology, Sociological Theory, social complexity, Historical Sociology, education, race/ ethnic/minority relations, women’s studies as well as belief systems, and ritual violence of indigenous peoples.
