Sharon Lewis, Project Coordinator for the Center for Social Welfare Research & Assessment, will serve as a liaison between Center staff, Department of Social Work faculty and SCDSS in identifying best practices for enforcing parental support for children in foster care. Lewis previously worked for Mecklenburg County DSS within the Economic Services and Youth and Family Services divisions. She brings more than 16 years experience of providing direct services for families including case management, self- sufficiency initiatives, program coordination, and leveraging community partnerships. For nine years, Sharon managed a wealth building program which prepared former TANF and eligible low income families for homeownership through financial literacy education, matched savings, and affordable mortgage products.
