Professor Dattilio is a native of Lima, Peru and came to Winthrop in the Fall of 2010 to serve as an adjunct instructor of Spanish in the Department of World Languages and Cultures. She has also taught Spanish at the Corporate and Continuing Education Department of York Technical College in Rock Hill, SC. She has been a public school teacher of Spanich at the middle school level in both Florida and Georgia.

She has served as a member of the Foreign Language Educators of Northeast Florida, the Professional Association of Georgia Educators and the Foreign Language Education, Outstanding Honor Society member for Sigma Delta Pi and Outstanding Student Teacher at Northwestern Middle School in Atlanta, GA.

Prior to becoming a teacher, Professor Dattilio worked in the business sector. While living in Atlanta, GA, she worked as Marketing Director for an export company and as a Credit Specialist for the international department of what is now Bank of America.
