Dr. Silagyi-Rebovich, a Registered Dietitian since 1973, is an Associate Professor of Human Nutrition, and Director of Assessment in Winthrop's Department of Accreditation, Accountability and Academic Services. She has taught courses in Research Methods, Community Nutrition, Dietetics Management, Nutrition Education Theory and Practice, and the Human Experience. Her research interests include assessment of adult learners. Silagyi-Rebovich has supervised human nutrition graduate student research on a variety of community health topics, published in such refereed journals as the British Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics and the Journal of the American Dietetic Association (now known as the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics), and presented at national, regional, and state conferences on topics related to adult learning assessment, and human nutrition. Silagyi-Rebovich’s professional service includes program-reviewer and accreditation site visitor for the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (now known as the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)), and Chair of the Ohio Delegation to the American Dietetic Association's House of Delegates. Prior to joining Winthrop University's faculty in 1993, Silagyi-Rebovich was employed at the University of Akron (Akron, OH), as Manager of the Program for Nutrition Intervention and an adjunct instructor in the Division of Family and Consumer Science. Between 1973 and 1985, Silagyi-Rebovich was a clinical dietitian in hospital-, home health-, and public health-settings in Cleveland and Akron, OH.
