Professor Shellenberger is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Social Work at Winthrop. She received her B.A. in social work from Baylor University and her M.S.W. from the University of Texas-Arlington. She has taught classes in Social Work Direct Practice, Social Welfare Policy, Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Social Work Senior Seminar, Social Work in Health Care, and Aging Policy. She is a Respecting Choices facilitator for advance care planning. She received the Texas Partnership for End-of-Life Care Award as a champion in end-of-life care in 2005. Shellenberger has been working as a social worker in the medical field for more than 17 years and is currently working as a social worker for Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care in Charlotte, N.C.
