Dr. Bickford has been an instructor in the Department of English at Winthrop for 10 years. She earned her master’s in English from the University of Mississippi and her Ph.D. in 20th-century American literature and literary theory from the University of South Carolina. Her research interests include psychoanalytic theory and issues of race, class, and gender in modern American literature. She has taught courses in American and African-American literature and poetry, world literature, and literary theory, along with a number of writing courses.
