Professor Miller is an adjunct instructor with the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Winthrop. She received both her B.A. and M.L.A. at Winthrop. Miller has taught "Sociology of Aging," "Marriage and Family," and "Death and Grief." A year-long course on sociology and life review earned Miller and Department of Sociology and Anthropology faculty member Jonathan Marx the Combining Service and Learning Faculty Award in 2008. This course will be featured in in a special issue of The Oral History Review, "Oral History in the 21st-Century Classroom."
Lee also is a published author. Her book The Journey: A Celebration of Life has provided avenues for speaking engagements across the nation. The book is being used in a college for women in Saudi Arabia as a English as Second Language tool. Lee is a co- author on four refereed publications in the field of gerontology with Winthrop faculty members Marx and Jennifer Solomon. She has written and published the corporate history of the Rock Hill Coca Cola Bottling Company as well as numerous individual histories, and she is finishing an eighth-grade supplemental history book on the history of downtown Rock Hill.
Lee also serves the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Geology as administrative assistant and building coordinator. She has served in several administrative positions across campus since 1990. Her sisters and immediate family have obtained 11 degrees from Winthrop. She is a member of the Association of Personal Historians and the National Association of Memoir Writers.
