Professor Yilma teaches courses on environmental issues and biology at Winthrop. In the past she has taught human anatomy/physiology and microbiology at York Technical College. Prior to coming to the U.S., she did field research in plant pathology. She was granted an FAO Fellowship to attend graduate school at Clemson University.
Yilma is an active volunteer at the York County Museum and at St. Anne's Church.
