Mrs. Vandersloot began her career in secondary education in Michigan, where she earned the Teacher of the Year Award. Since then, she has had a variety of positions both in and out of education in Chicago, central Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and finally South Carolina. She started at Winthrop in fall 2003 in the Department of Modern Languages and joined the Office of Student Services in 2005.
Though she truly enjoys working with college students and in academia, she most enjoys traveling and long, sun-filled days at the shore.
