Dr. Spring is an assistant professor of English in Professional Writing. She received her Ph.D. in English, with a focus on discourse studies, from Texas A&M University. She has taught courses in first-year and advanced composition, technical writing, and cyber-rhetoric, and she is the recipient of two teaching awards during her time at Texas A&M. In addition to her teaching, Spring works with the Department of English’s Professional Writing program at Winthrop.
Her current research includes two projects that seek to better understand the relationship between writer and text: a qualitative study of how undergraduate students see themselves as writers and an assessment of graduate writing groups at Texas A&M University’s Writing Center. She also is a regular presenter at both the Conference on College Composition and Communication and the Computers and Writing conference.
