Dr. Quintelli-Neary is a professor of English at Winthrop, where she teaches courses in British and Irish literature, the novel, and folklore; she also reads for Working Papers in Irish Studies, a journal she edited between 2003 and 2010. She served as president of the Southern Irish Conference from 2006-2008.
She has published numerous articles on modern Irish literature and folklore in Nua, The Journal of Irish Literature, Etudes Irlandaises, New Hibernia Review, Kelten, and other journals. She served as assistant editor of and contributor to the two-volume Dictionary of Irish Literature in 1996 (Greenwood); her study of the modern Irish novel and fantasy, Folklore and the Fantastic, appeared in 1997 (Greenwood); and her work on Irish American folklore, The Irish American Myth of the Frontier West (Academica, Maunsel imprint), appeared in 2008. A collection she edited and to which she contributed, Visions of the Irish Dream, was published by Cambridge Scholars in 2009.
