Dr. Cagle has worked in HIV/AIDS services as an
educator, case manager, and administrator; in child welfare as a foster care
worker; and in community mental health as a therapist working with adolescents
and their families. Cagle’s teaching centers on social work practice with
individuals, families, and groups; human behavior in the social environment;
and empowerment practice. For several years he has also taught the MSW
Capstone course. Dr. Cagle’s most current scholarship explores the
inclusion of animals in social work practice, theory, and teaching.
