CAS professors Jonathan Marx and David Meeler wrote this article for The Chronicle of Higher Education about the role of academic policies in grade inflation. They based the article on case study research that they also published in a longer paper in the Quality Assurance in Education journal: Strike four! Do-over policies institutionalize GPA distortion.

Tenure, Promotions and Emeritus Status Announced for Faculty (06/10/13)
The following retiring CAS faculty members were approved for emeritus status: Kenneth Gordon, professor of Spanish and department chair; Ron Green, professor and former chair of social work; Barbara Heinemann, associate professor of Spanish; Cecile Leung, professor of French; and Marguerite Quintelli-Neary, professor of English.
The following CAS faculty members were granted tenure and promoted to associate professor: Matthew Hayes, psychology; Robert Prickett, English; Joseph Rusinko, mathematics; and Scott Werts, geology.
The following CAS faculty member was promoted to professor: Leigh Armistead, psychology.
