    The Program

The Cooperative Education Program is an academic program which provides students with pre-professional work experience in a field related to their major or career interest.

Students can earn academic credit in their major which is reflected on their transcript, or have the option to participate in a non-credit Co-op.

    Two types of work options:

    • Part-time - work 15-20 hrs/week while continuing coursework
    • Full-time - work 40 hrs/week with option to take coursework

Students participating in Winthrop's Cooperative Education Program must fulfill the following requirements:

    • Be enrolled at least as a part-time student in a degree program while active in the Co-op program
    • Have earned 24 credit hours, including at least 12 hours at Winthrop
    • Maintain at least a 2.5 GPR while active in the program

    The Benefits

Co-op Program will also allow you to:

    • Build a job search network while gaining real world work experience.
    • Develop job search skills giving students an important head start on graduation.
    • Explore choice of major and career options within a major.
    • Earn academic credit toward graduation.
