The Program
The Cooperative Education Program
is an academic program which provides students with pre-professional
work experience in a field related to their major or career
interest.
Students can earn academic
credit
in their major which is reflected on their transcript, or have the
option to participate in a
non-credit Co-op.
Two types of work options:
Part-time
- work 15-20 hrs/week while continuing
coursework
Full-time - work 40 hrs/week with option to take
coursework
Students participating in Winthrop's Cooperative
Education Program must fulfill the following
requirements:

at least as a part-time student in a
degree program while active in the Co-op program

24 credit hours, including at least

opportunities are located. Over 50% of students who are active in
the job search process find a Co-op position. Students already in a

Consultant for information on how to receive credit for a
"Self-Developed Co-op".
Co-op Program will also allow you to:
- Build a job search network while gaining real world work
experience.
- Develop job search skills giving students an important head
start on graduation.
- Explore choice of major and career options within a major.
- Earn academic credit toward graduation.
