Winthrop Alumni
Professional Network
Dear Winthrop Alumni,
Want to make a major difference in the lives of Winthrop students without it costing you a dime? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
The Center
for Career and Civic Engagement and the
Alumni Association invites you to join the Alumni
Professional Network, which is a group of alumni who have graciously
volunteered to share their expertise and insight about their careers with
students and alumni. In this period of great fluctuation in career
fields and intense competition for jobs, a friendly personal contact who
knows both the realities of today's job market and the quality of Winthrop
graduates can be a tremendous help to our students. When
Professional Networkers (that's you!) interact with students, their self-confidence is bolstered, they get a reality check on their career goals, and their transition from college to the working world becomes less intimidating and mysterious.
In completing the online form,
you can clearly define what kind of assistance you would like to provide as
well as how the student can contact you. Involvement in the Alumni
Professional Network can include providing career advice to individual students, participating on career panels
, referring students to other contacts in your industry, and/or providing an opportunity for student employment. Of course, if you ever find yourself amidst a career change, the Network members will be there for you too!
We hope that you will consider
joining the Alumni Professional Network. A
small time investment on your part can make the world of difference to a
student searching for career advice and a job. If you would like more
information about your potential role and contribution as a
professional Networker, please feel free to contact one of us. We look forward to hearing from you.
