Winthrop Senior Greg Lewis Picked By SIDs As Big South Preseason Co-MVP |

ROANOKE, VA--Winthrop senior forward Greg Lewis has been selected as the 2000-2001 Big South Conference preseason co-Player of the Year along with Radford's Jason Williams. The announcement was made during the annual Big South Conference Media Day activities held at the Roanoke Civic Center, site of the 2001 league championship tournament.
Lewis, who led the Eagles to the 2000 Big South title while earning last year's tournament MVP award, averaged a team-high 15.5 points and 6.7 rebounds a year ago.
He and Williams are joined on the preseason Big South Conference first team by sophomore guard Andre Smith of UNC Asheville, junior guard Brendon Rowell, Elon; and senior forward Nick Mitchell, Charleston Southern.
