    * Faculty representatives who participated in the Summer 2002 ad hoc committees from all         areas of the newly adopted general education program were invited to participate in the assessment workshop.  Faculty representatives from all components of the newly adopted general education program were invited to participate in the meeting. 

    Topics discussed during the two-day meeting

    Rubrics to operationally define categories and level of attainment of learning outcomes

    Standardized assessment issues (multiple sections of a single course taught by multiple faculty members, multiple courses approved for a particular skill, component or perspective in the general education program) 

    Resources needed to conduct course-embedded assessment (time, space, fiscal, training)

    Communicating results of course-embedded assessment (roles and responsibilities of various constituencies)

    Using assessment results for general education program improvement
