is Academic Advising?

The Office of Student Services is
located in 106 Kinard
and is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. -
5:00 p.m.
The responsibilities of the Office of Student Services
are:
-
Provides overall direction for the
advising process in the College of Arts and Sciences.
-
Provides advising services for
Pre-major (undeclared) students in University College.
-
Processes transfer evaluations for
all students in the College of Arts and Sciences.
-
Provides assistance in career
advising for all majors in the College of Arts and Sciences.
-
Assist with questions about
OnCourse audits that arise from advisor-student conferences.
-
Performs administrative tasks as
required by other Winthrop University offices (Admissions, Graduate
Affairs, Records and Registration, etc.).
You should contact the Office of Student
Services if:
-
you want to change your major or
minor, and your current major is listed in the College of Arts and
Sciences. You will need to complete a Change of Major form. Be sure
that your major and minor are listed correctly in the Office of
Student Services.

you plan to take courses at another institution and transfer them back to
Winthrop. You will need to request an Approval to Transfer Credit form.
-
you have a question about credit received
(or not received) for a transfer course. Schedule a time to discuss the evaluation with the Director of Student Services.
