Recognizing Donors

Blue Line Society

The Blue Line Society is an annual recognition society to honor donors based on their annual giving to the Winthrop Fund or other areas of the university from Jan. 1-Dec. 31. Special recognition is given to members of the Blue Line Society to show appreciation for their leadership giving and impact their donation has on campus.

Donors who make a gift of $1,000 or more annually, including corporate matches, will be recognized at the Blue Line Society level. Young alumni who make gifts totaling $200+ (classes of 2013-17), $500+ (classes of 2008-2012) and $800+ (classes of 2003-2007) will be recognized at the Blue Line Society level. Faculty and staff giving $500+ annually will be included in this leadership society as well.

Blue Line Society members will receive a special car decal recognizing their support as well as an invitation to Convocation each year to witness the time-honored Blue Line tradition.

Go Gold for Life

Go Gold for Life is Winthrop’s student giving plan. Gifts to the Winthrop Fund will honor the Winthrop experience and serve as a way to celebrate memories and valuable moments. Go Gold for Life members receive special recognition in Winthrop publications as well as an invitation to a Go Gold for Life reception each year.

D.B. Johnson Society

Honoring Winthrop’s founder, the D.B. Johnson Society celebrates the contributions of those who have made planned giving arrangements to benefit Winthrop.

Leadership Giving

Leadership endowment gifts have transformed campus with new buildings and programs, and they have provided invaluable support for students and faculty through scholarships, fellowships and much more. In addition, leadership annual gifts encourage others to give to annual funds. These gifts represent a key investment in Winthrop and Winthrop students because they provide students access to transformative experiences that foster creativity, excellence and leadership. Visit http://winthrop.giftlegacy.com for more information about making a planned gift.

Winthrop Women’s Coalition

The Winthrop Women’s Coalition was founded on the idea that women’s strength is at its best when we work together and that a relationship with the institution is mutually beneficial: the institution fosters the individual to succeed and the individual helps to support the institution. In the coalition, one will find a connection to other women of diverse personal and professional backgrounds, and opportunities for personal and professional enrichment while helping to contribute to the university’s mission and philanthropic needs.
