Hi! My name is David Rollings. I graduated in May 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. After graduation, I took the opportunity to become an Admissions Counselor. I enjoy my position because it allows me to remain involved with the Winthrop community.
I chose to attend Winthrop for many reasons such as its size and location. Winthrop's size was perfect for me, it wasn't too big and it wasn't too small. I was also attracted to Winthrop because of its location. Rock Hill offers many of the conveniences of a larger city and is only a short drive to Charlotte. I was also attracted to Winthrop because of its strong academic programs. As a freshman, I was unsure of what I wanted to major in, but it was comforting to know that Winthrop is committed to individual program accreditation. Winthrop also has a beautiful campus and a faculty committed to their students.
Attending Winthrop also provided me with the opportunity to earn a high-quality education while making lifelong friends. As a Winthrop student, I was involved in several student organizations. As a Winthrop Ambassador, I gave tours to prospective students. As a member of the Richardson Hall Council, I worked with other residents to plan building-wide activities and community service projects. I also served as a Resident Assistant in Richardson Hall, which allowed me to help students with their college transition. With a wide variety of student organizations, it is easy for students to become involved at Winthrop.
Deciding where to attend college is a very difficult decision. I remember how overwhelmed I was when deciding which college to attend; however, I found that visiting the colleges and asking questions was helpful. I encourage you to tour the campus and discover all that Winthrop has to offer.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at the Office of Admissions 800/WINTHROP (946-8476) or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you!
