When should I apply for need-based financial aid?
You can submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) any time after January 1 of the year you wish to enroll. We recommend that you apply no later than March 1. You can apply for financial aid as soon as your parents have completed their federal income tax returns. If they will not file their tax returns before March 1, you should complete a FAFSA using estimated income information.
