Mr. Drueke was named Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs on July 1, 2010. As Assistant VP, he is responsible for coordinating the faculty promotion and tenure process, faculty recruitment and hiring, sabbaticals, and faculty awards. Mr. Drueke also works with the faculty governance on curriculum development and the reporting of changes to program offerings to the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. As Director of Summer Sessions, he is responsible for the promotion and coordination of all summer course offerings.
Mr. Drueke has been at Winthrop since 1999 when he was appointed Registrar. As Registrar, he coordinated the implementation of web-based services to students, including online registration, advising, and degree auditing. Starting in 2008 he was part of the steering team for the implementation of the Banner system. He was the project lead for the Banner student and DegreeWorks implementations and still consults with the Office of Records and Registration on various matters.
Mr. Drueke regularly teaches the freshman seminar Principles of the Learning Academy to Honors students.
