Winthrop University

Office of Institutional Research and Office of Assessment

Policy on Technical Assistance and/or Scanning for Surveys/Questionnaires

The Office of Assessment will provide technical assistance on survey design, administration, and/or analysis to units and individuals who are planning and/or conducting surveys for the purpose of evaluating University functions/services/programs. Technical assistance for faculty and staff conducting research will also be provided as time allows.

The Office of Institutional Research will provide technical assistance on survey analysis and data files to those same units/individuals.

Opscan software and equipment available in the offices of Institutional Research and Assessment is for the purpose of conducting university-wide research and assessment activities, such as student and alumni surveys and special studies such as those related to strategic planning, student and faculty assessment activities, and economic impact studies.

Institutional Research and Assessment will consider requests for assistance with special, one-time surveys conducted by individual units as time and equipment availability permits.  Assistance with external projects (e.g., grant-related projects) conducted by Winthrop faculty and staff will also be considered, but these may require reimbursement for associated staff time.
